The Importance of Connecting

SBG

Today I’m excited to discuss my current experience with the Bigs and Littles Blogging Network. Although I know the pairings are relatively random (one does provide where they live and certain specifics regarding their blog), the match that was made with Diana of This Imperfect Happiness couldn’t have been better. As this was the first time I was considered a “big”, I also have to say this experience taught me a little about myself also. What is stressed in Bigs and Littles is not so much that one person knows more than the other but the importance of connecting, not being afraid to ask questions, not being afraid to say you don’t know and learning from the experience. Diana is a relatively new blogger who has been blogging since August of last year,  who has a very similar content focus of what you would find here on How to Make A Life. She focuses upon learning to be happy in the moment and stresses that you can be happy even if you aren’t exactly where you want to be in life. I knew we were a great match when I found she had also written a post on How to Keep a Gratitude Journal. It was wonderful to be able to share some thoughts on what has worked for me, what hasn’t and brainstorming in regards to finding the right equation for posting. (Diana and I are both still working on that aspect of it) I am hoping that I’ve provided some guidance and support for her. One of the greatest aspects of connecting with another blogger through this network is that you automatically feel you have someone you can connect to and ask questions of. At times it can feel uncomfortable reaching out to a blogger who you know only via their blog posts and comments. I am still in touch with most of the bloggers who I have connected with via this Network and feel it helps to welcome new members into your tribe. Diana and I will stay connected as I’ve invited her to participate in my Self Care Saturday series (her posts are truly that wonderful) and we are considering another series together. If you are looking for fantastic blog to add to your reading list, you must add This Imperfect Happiness!

Here are a few of my favorite posts that you will find on This Imperfect Happiness. Take a Me Day: This post is a perfect example of self care. There are times when you need to schedule yourself in your calendar. 6 Steps for Creating a Regular Bedtime Routine: Who of us doesn’t struggle with sleep in some form or the other? These are some great tips to establishing a routine that may help. 20 things to Do with 10 Minutes: It sometimes feels like you can’t do much with 10 minutes but you would be surprised at what you can accomplish!

Be on the look out for the next round of Bigs and Littles. It is a fantastic and rewarding experience.

Happy Friday!

I’m so happy that you enjoyed this round and now see that you can be a big too! I love that you still remain in contact with past partners! This is exactly what this program was meant to do!

Such a great link up, right? I ended up meeting another blogger that shares the same zip code and we weren’t even linked up based on location, just out love or animals.

Love your posts Sheryl, very inspiring and uplifting. At the very least, thought provoking.

Thank you Lindsay, your words mean a lot! It’s funny how we can live so close to someone and yet it takes blogging to connect us!
