Perspective | Write or Die Wednesday

Mia and Vashelle. This link-up is wonderful for anyone wanting to develop their writing skills, needing a prompt for a blog post or wanting to follow a wonderful community that provides interesting posts each week. Today’s prompt is this photograph. write-or-die-weds-prompt-jan-14-2015 How we view life is about our perspective. There is so much more to life than what is seen on the surface. There is so much more to each of us than what we see on the outside. How fortunate this diver is to see another layer of the world. How much time do any of us spend looking at a situation from a different perspective? What is your current perspective of your current situation in life? It can be so easy to forget that the view looks different from another angle. A situation that feels overwhelming could also provide opportunities. A situation that feels dark can have shimmers of light. Today I encourage you to change your perspective. Change your view and discover something you have not noticed before. What we see on the surface is not all there is.  Don’t forget to take some time to read additional perspectives on this photograph.

Some days you just seem to know exactly what I need to hear. Definitely need a different perspective about an issue. Acceptance is what you call it I believe… =)

I’m so glad it was what you needed! Oh Shannon, acceptance doesn’t come easily. I’m thinking of you and sending a hug!

“What we see on the surface is not all there is.” So true!! I love this. Perspective is huge! I try to remind myself of this all the time. Thanks so much for linking up, Sheryl! 🙂

Mia, I’ve had to really work on this for myself and Perspective was all I could think of when I looked at the photograph.

Thank you, Sheryl, for always saying what I need to hear when I need to hear it! Admittedly, I’ve been opting for the negative perspective because that is just what I’ve been so used to lately.

Much of my negativity is because I am unhappy living on this island, but for goodness sake, Shelly! You live on an island!! I know I should be more grateful, but I do think there are just some places some people are not cut out for. And I know it is said that you cannot “run” from your problems, but I think just getting back to the mainland will make a huge difference for me. In the meantime I am learning so much more about myself (like the fact that I enjoy more historical places [with museums, historical landmarks, varied culture, etc.] than I do the beach. We live and we learn! 🙂

Shelly, you are so right – there are some places that people are not cut for. I’ve also come realize that just because something looks like it should be beautiful and good doesn’t mean that it is. We discover ourselves by taking wrong turns and paths. The important part is that we can turn around and go where we need to go.
