The Poinsettia Holiday Cocktail

Poinsettia Holiday Cocktail

The holiday season calls for parties and this holiday season called for the Poinsettia Holiday Cocktail.

Last weekend my friends gathered at my home for a night of catching up, food and,of course, a holiday cocktail. I wanted to offer something different this year and found it harder to find a cocktail I liked. My criteria for party cocktails is that it can be mixed beforehand (so no need to worry about mixing each drink) and the ingredients go along with the current season or theme. The Poinsettia Holiday Cocktail fit perfectly with the holiday season but can be used throughout the year (think Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day).  It is a light and refreshing drink and everyone wanted more. I chose to make some changes to the original recipe and received high reviews from everyone.

The Poinsettia Holiday Cocktail

1 bottle of Prosecco, chilled 2 cups cranberry juice 1 cup Triple Sec 1/2 cup vodka Orange peels to garnish I mixed everything together about 1 hour before everyone arrived. It is important to note that I occasionally add more or less of something depending upon how my taste is at that time. During the holiday season, it is important to have a well stocked bar and we had all of the ingredients with the exception of cranberry juice. I used Costco’s Kirkland brand Prosecco (which retails for about $7) and it was perfect for this drink.  It is not always necessary to utilize higher end alcohol when creating cocktails. I did use a cranberry juice without artificial sweeteners and I feel this makes the drink better. Make sure you pin this recipe for use at your holiday or future party. Most importantly, enjoy the season! Poinsettia Holiday Cocktail

I agree with you, a pretty cocktail is important and I think even helps with the taste.(But this one doesn’t need any help).

This looks like quite the kicker! I was wondering what was in it from your Insta stories. I was guessing champagne but I think I like it even more now that I know there’s some other goodies in this drink! I gotta try it out!

I hope you try it out this holiday season! it does have a little bit of everything in it (but that is what makes it so good).
