Spring Decorations Tour
Although I tried to keep my winter decorations neutral, I was extremely happy to change the decor for the spring season. Just as the blooming flowers in my yard make me happy, so do the small changes of color inside.
Today I wanted to provide a short Spring Decorations Tour.
A new season means a new door wreath. As I always try to repurpose my supplies, I built this on an esxixiting grapevine wreath. The green mesh was actually purchased several years ago at Christmas time but I felt like it was great to use for springtime. I already had the white ribbon for the bow. As most of my flowers were beginning to show their age, all of the flowers were purchased new at Hobby Lobby and a great local design store in Lexington called House. (seriously, if you live in Central Kentucky and haven’t been there yet, you need to go NOW)
Although I have ambition to create a wreath for the mirror in the entry way, I haven’t been able to do so at this time. Thus, I am keeping it simple in the entryway with a display of Easter Eggs and greenery. I will change out the eggs after Easter but for right now I am in love with them! (PS, these were not expensive and were purchased at Target over the last two Springs.)
I continued to keep things simple in the dining room with more greenery and a beautiful bird’s nest I placed on display.
More greenery and eggs for the buffet table.
Another cute bird’s nest resting in forsythia for the living room coffee table.
As can be found in most homes, our family room focuses around the TV over the mantle. We joke about getting a larger TV but James has reminded me that if he does get a bigger one, I would not be able to decorate on the mantle. (He knows me and don’t need a larger tv.) For Spring I always place more forsythia as it symbolizes the season for me.
The other new purchase for the Spring was this fun table runner from HomeGoods for our kitchen table. I debated between this with the applique flowers or something solid and truly couldn’t pass this up. I’m just hoping our cat Sam doesn’t try to pull them off.
And finally, I couldn’t pass up Trader Joe’s great prices on flowers last week. It has been almost a week and they continue to look pretty.
Regardless of the size home James and I have lived in, from our first one bedroom apartment to our current home, I have always tried to change the decorations for the season. Small changes can and do make a difference in your surroundings and it is so important to love where you are. Each morning I am grateful for what James and I have.
Today I’m linking up with Emily for Grateful Heart Monday. As you start your week, take a few minutes to acknowledge what you are grateful to have in your life.
Have you decorated for Spring?

How perfect! I love that whimsical wreath!
Thanks Cassie! I was so happy to remember I had the green mesh and didn’t need to buy more.
I LOVE that wreath! You should do a tutorial!
Thanks Christine, I keep meaning to do a tutorial and then I just create the wreath and forget I should be taking pictures. I’m thinking I may do one for the mirror and create a tutorial.
I love it! You should DEFINITELY come decorate my house now, please?!
Thanks Caroline! If only I were in Texas. I would certainly come help you!
Ooh I love that bird’s nest!!
Thanks Daisy. It’s so sweet to look at.
Your home looks great! I love decorating for spring – immediately brings a little cheer and color into the home.
xo Rachel
Thank You Rachel! I think we were all needing a change after the long winter.
Your decorations are beautiful! I love all of the greenery and the forsythia. You have beautiful taste!
Thank You Anne! I used to decorate a lot with an Easter theme and then had to change out. The greenery and forsythia go until it’s time for Summer Decorations!
So beautiful! I think I need you to come decorate my house! I need a spring wreath but haven’t found any that I like. And I’m going to have to check out House… Another obsession, I’m sure!
Let me know what you would like and we can probably make that happen. Sometimes I can’t believe how expensive some of the wreaths are – I’m always thinking “I could do that.” Of course, then I have to find the time! 🙂
I love the decorations! I have buying a spring wreath on my list… next time I’m near a store that sells them. I hope they won’t be sold out! We have some spring flowers on the table left over from my birthday, but I need to switch out the table runner! I think the only really springy thing that I’ve done is bring down some fake flowers for the table beside my bed and put away my winter scented candles and brought out all of the lighter scented ones. I try to rotate the scents!
I love the greenery! I would love to find something similar and do pillar candles on a wooden cake stand… I just haven’t found one. 🙂
I used to go all out with decorating but I’ve learned that a few small changes can be the best. I’m like you and love changing out the scents. That certainly makes a different. I think a wooden cake stand would be awesome but I’ve not seen one. I’m also sure you will be able to find a wreath. They are always available – of course, its’ just finding one you like!
Everything is so beautiful! My favorite part of spring decorating is finding ways to bring the outside world into my home with me. These little projects all do a lovely job of just that!
Thank You Kelly! It certainly does make the house feel brighter. I’m just so glad to say good bye to winter.
Follow up question: What’s the name of that greenery? It’s so pretty! I’d love to find something like it (and I know nothing about home decor!).
Sarah, are you talking about the greenery on the table etc? I will have to check for you as I’ve purchased it all different places. I will get back to you!
Ohhh, it’s ok. I thought they might have a special name. I am going to get someone to take me to Hobby Lobby/Michael’s on Friday or Saturday so that I can look around. If I have anything too specific in mind, I end up leaving empty handed – probably by passing something perfectly good. I wasn’t able to tell it they were real or fake!
Everything is artificial! I do well with growing things outdoors but not so much in the house. Plus, I have a cat who thinks he needs to eat everything! You should be able to find something at Hobby Lobby.
Love all of your decor- especially your tablescape! I love the little birds nest and the surrounding greenery!
Thanks Carly. I fell in love with the bird’s nest last year. It’s simple and makes me smile.
Next time we’re in Lexington, we will have to check out that store!
Yes Holly!!! I would love to take you there. It’s just a cute little design store with some pretty good prices. Let’s make plans this Spring!!
Alright, so now come over to my place and decorate with me, yes? 😉 Seriously beautiful, Sheryl!
