Currently in March

It makes me sad to realize I have not been posting on a regular basis during this first quarter of the year. Writing whether it be in public form in this space or journaling privately is something that truly keeps me sane. Today, I’m happy to announce that April be the beginning of many things. Many of those items will be included in this space and today I’m sharing a sneak peak into what has been going on that has been keeping me away and quiet. Over the past weeks, I have been preparing a new life coaching offering in the Lexington area. Walk and Talk Coaching offers three packages that involve a coaching session while we walk. Walking is one of the most therapeutic activities one can do and combining this with a coaching session enhances the benefit. You can find more information about Walk and Talk Coaching by visiting the Work with Sheryl tab above.  More information will be coming in regards to the benefit of movement and life coaching.


With planning a new aspect of my business comes the creation of forms, new blog pages and preparing how to spread the word. Although I do love to create, I have to admit that some of these items are out of my comfort zone. Thus, it has taken me longer. PS: a newsletter will be coming to this site!


The past month has provided me with the opportunity to present trainings on several different subjects. I’ve enjoyed the fact that each training has ranged from formal to laid back.


James and I made the conscious choice to give up chocolate for Lent this year. I have to say there have been a few moments when it has been hard. My Starbucks baristas still aren’t used to me ordering something other than a Mocha with Coconut Milk. For the record, I’ve been drinking a vanilla latte or a flat white and the green tea with lemonade isn’t bad.

Cheering for

Sadly, the University of Kentucky’s basketball season ended Sunday evening. However, I intend to cheer for the University of South Carolina. They are making their first appearance ever in the Final Four and they are part of the Southeastern Conference.

Thinking about 

I have been able to accomplish some of the tasks I had hoped to complete for the first quarter of the year. Hoping to spend some time this week and review and recalibrate as we move into April.

    A new aspect of your business! How exciting! I can only imagine how much hard work is involved! As you might know I haven’t been all to present in the blogging world for a few weeks in February bc life got too busy. But I have been back and my blogging mojo returned after creating The Peaceful Posse with Charlotte and Lindsay and I am so happy to be back!

      We all have to take time away and rebalance/recalibrate. I think it also helps us know what we truly want to focus our energy on. I’m glad we are both getting back into the swing of things. !

    Giving up chocolate for Lent – good for you! That’s a hard one! I don’t know if I could do it! Then again, I almost always drink a vanilla latte, so maybe it wouldn’t be as hard as I think!

      I do like the vanilla latte – it’s just not my Mocha. However, I’m making it (it doesn’t mean I don’t want or think about chocolate).

    That Coldplay/Chainsmokers song really is one that’ll get stuck in your head for hours. So catchy!

    Sheryl, I absolutely LOVE the idea of walk and talk coaching! I so so wish you lived closer, because I would be your first customer, for real. I find walking to be one of the most therapeutic activities, and it’s great to engage in great conversation while heading on a stroll. I wish you all the best with this!

      Oh Charlotte, how I would love to go walking with you!! Walking truly can make things look different and that’s what i am hoping will happen. As for the chocolate…. it’s not easy but I can do it!

    Walk and Talk Coaching sounds like a great way to do coaching! I can definitely see how beneficial movement would be for something like that and think of how many people enjoy walking and talking to other people. You hear about couples, friends and families going out for walks all the time to spend time together and chat. I’ve also found that movement opens up my mind differently. I recently started doing a workout–even if it’s just 15 minutes of toning, yoga or dance–before I sit down to write. I definitely notice a difference between how it goes when I get some movement in before I write and when I don’t.
