Best Kept Self Summer Box Review
A few months ago, I made the decision to stop by monthly Ipsy subscription. I was intending to only have one quarterly box (FabFitFun box); however, when I realized that Best Kept Self also had a quarterly box, I decided to give it a try.
Best Kept Self is a wonderful online collective that features information from lifestyle experts and contributors on beauty, style, career, wellness and relationships. I regularly read the various blog posts and love the Monday Morning Pep Talks that are delivered via email.
I truly was not sure what to expect as I did not do any research on past boxes. My summer 2015 Best Kept Self Box was a white box that contained five items inside.
Tiered Necklace from Your Jewelry Bar $ 19.99-24.00
I rarely wear gold tone jewelry and I love that this is three layers. This is a style that I would purchase for myself. The site does not have the exact necklace I received but does have similar pieces. As a result,I am estimating the price.
Mission Essentials Green Rays Natural Sun Soothe $ 10.00
This is a brand that creates all natural products. This spray is an after sun product to soothe skin that has been exposed to the sun or wind. It contains aloe vera and peppermint and lavendar oils. As it appears to be monsoon seasons in Kentucky, I’ve had little opportunity to get out in the sun. However, I’m hoping to eventually see the sun soon.
Indigo Wild Zum Face Walnut Sugar Rosemary Mint Facial Scrub $12.00
This is a fascinating company out of Missouri that I look forward to learning more about. All of their products (except lotion) are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free and include bath and body and home cleaning items. I hesitantly (my skin has been dry) tried the scrub and was amazed at how soft it made my skin. The scrub can be used weekly and I certainly plan to make it a part of my routine.
Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Spray $ 11.99
This is another all natural product that can be used for sore throats or support the immune system. I like the taste and will certainly use it during times of stress.
The BlokRock Applicator $ 19.99
This is a fantastic invention that offers a mess free way to apply sunscreen. I feel like this would be great for the beach or with kids as you aren’t having to worry about getting sunscreen in the eyes. Additionally, I feel like kids may be more prone to put sunscreen on as this could be considered fun. The sunscreen goes into the container and it is rolled on. Again, lack of sun in my world hasn’t allowed me to try this.
I am estimating this box contained approximately $ 78.00 worth of goods. What makes this box unique is each of the experts at Best Kept Self specifically pick a product to be included. I like the fact that many of the items are organic and are from brands I have not heard but certainly appreciate hearing about.Another wonderful surprise was a gratitude letter with a blank copy to send to three friends (and they are instructed to send to three friends). As I have stated before, it is so important to express gratitude to those in our lives and I appreciate having something to prompt me. (For anyone following the #12MonthsofBliss, I feel this fits June’s challenge)
Although not as extensive as the FabFitFun box (review to come next week), I did enjoy this box.
You can order one Best Kept Self box for $ 49.99. I chose the annual option and received a 10 % discount which made this box $44.75. My estimated total for all of the items is $ 78.00. If you are interesting in trying the Fall box, you can place yourself on the wait list.

I love the idea of this kind of box! Right now, the price is a little steep but I will be keeping it in mind.
I do wish the price were a little lower. I’m reviewing the other box I receive next week so make sure you check it out too!
This looks great! I love subscription boxes, and haven’t heard of this one. Thanks for the overview, looking in to it. 🙂
There are so many different ones out there anymore. I’m always glad for reviews because it gives you an idea.
