Thursday means another wonderful edition of the link up I am participating in with Shannon at Smile and Write. Write Yourself Happy is an opportunity to learn new journal writing techniques and to hopefully help you improve your own mental health.
We continue on with utilizing lists as journal prompts and this week we are encouraged to write down five positive affirmations, quotes or bible verses you want to incorporate in your daily life to keep your thoughts and beliefs in check.
I recently shared in a journal writing workshop that I wrote the affirmation “There’s something Better” over and over on several journal pages after my miscarriage. It was very much like the spelling words that we had to practice over and over in elementary school. If you write it enough, it will become your mantra. It certainly became mine during that time and helped me.
Here are some of my current affirmations.
1. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
2. Just Breathe!
3. I’m not afraid of Shadows – they simply mean there is a light nearby.
4. For behold, the winter is past: the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the Earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turltedove is hear in our land……. – Song of Solomon 2:11-12
5. Thank You.
Do you currently have affirmations that you view daily? I continue to have a timer on my phone that displays each morning as a way to greet my day. I would love to hear any of your affirmations.

Just breathe is so straight forward– but such a good thing to remind yourself of in any kind of stressful/upsetting situation!
We sometimes forget to to the simply things. I use it daily and often with my friends.
I do the “Breathe” one many times a day! Love the shadows hadn’t thought of it that way
I think we often.get so busy that we forget the simple things in life – like breathing!
