Going dairy-free is easy for me most of the time. However, I struggle at times when it comes to dessert. Over the weekend I was researching new recipes and I couldn’t pass up this great recipe in Practical Paleo for Moo-less Chocolate Mousse. I was even more excited when I realized I had all of the ingredients in the kitchen. (Don’t you hate when you find a recipe and then you need to buy most of the ingredients). This recipe involves only a few ingredients and will satisfy your chocolate craving without providing the dairy.
Moo-less Chocolate Mousse 2 ripe avocados1/4 unsweetened cacao powder2-4 tablespoons coconut milk 1 ripe banana (optional)1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or softened honey (optional to taste and may not be necessary if the banana is sweet enough) 1/2 teaspoon pure vanillaPinch of cinnamon Pinch of sea salt Scoop out the flesh of the avocado into a food processor or mash by hand. Add the cacao powder, coconut milk, ripe banana, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sea salt, and process until creamy, whipped, and well blended. Serve in individual dishes or bowls. Garnish with cacao nibs, toasted hazelnuts, or coconut. (I didn’t have any of these).
This recipe reminded me that you can obtain the same taste that you crave in a healthy manner. I hope you will try and enjoy!

This looks incredibly delicious– thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by! It’s great.
I’m so glad it doesn’t have chia in it! Chia pudding totally freaks me out!
Have you had chia pudding or does the thought freak you out? The texture is truly odd. I do recommend this!
Oh yummy! I eat dairy-free as well and it’s always so hard to find good dessert recipes. Thanks for sharing this! 🙂
I’m always glad to find others who go the dairy free route. You are right that it’s sometimes hard to find good recipes. I’m always on the search and will keep you posted as I find them..
