A few weeks ago, I was going through my Mom’s Family Bible. This Bible is large and Mom often used it to store things she wanted to save or to flatten out. In in, I found my sorority’s symphony, a few older family documents and several beautiful fall leaves.
My Mom loved the fall colors and it was not uncommon for her to pick leaves out of her yard and place them aside to save. For all of the years she saved leaves, she always intended to put together a collage but never got around to it. Perhaps, she placed them inside the Bible to flatten and forgot or (like many of us) simply never got around to it.
I knew I had to do something with these nearly perfect leaves. The color is beautiful and each leaf is in almost perfect condition.
Fortunately, I had a small collage frame and was able to arrange the leaves that afternoon. (I think many of us always plan to create things but don’t get around to it because we never have the right materials.) I now have the frame sitting in my living room as part of my Fall Decorations. After fall is over, I am going to find another place to keep them out year round. I make no secret that Fall isn’t my favorite time of year but I smile each time I look at the collage. It’s a small gift from my Mom and my childhood home.
Have you created Fall collages for you home?

love that! so cute 🙂
This is a great idea! I get so caught up in the seasonal crafts that take lots of time and effort, that I loose sight of the simple things. And they can be just as beautiful!
Very simple and so pretty!
