Millennials Show Us What Old Looks Like

I’m considered a Generation Xer and I remember the days when I thought that 40 was old. During my days at the hospital, I work with patients who range from younger than myself to older than 100. Recently, I met with an 82 year old who laughed and stated “Some people think I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m 82.” Trust me, she knew what she was talking about. The concept of aging is changing in our world and it begins with how each of us define ourselves, our age and how we live. (I love the piece in the video when the 52 year old is showing the 20 something how to balance https://youtu.be/lYdNjrUs4NM

The Longevity Book: The Science of Aging, The Biology of Strength and The Privilege of Time by Cameron Diaz and Sandra Bark

My upcoming milestone birthday in July has me thinking about aging. As women, regardless of your age, we are constantly told how we can stop the process and look younger. I have not completed this book but I want to say it is a must read. We need to stop thinking about how we look and focus upon what we are truly doing to our bodies. Did you know that  not that long ago most women did not live to see 40? This is not a beauty book but one talking about how we live.
