Meanwhile in March
Do you ever feel like when you catch up with friends that there isn’t enough time to catch up on everything?
Life moves quickly and we often don’t spend time catching up on the small details of life. I recently discussed the magic of ordinary days and feel we need to value those days. As I link up with Anne and Christine for Love the Everyday series, I felt today would be a great time to appreciate the small details. Excited About: I’ve never been as excited as I am about Spring time. February was a difficult month for me due to many reasons and the minute the calendar became March everything felt different. We are having extraordinary weather in Kentucky with temperatures more like late April (but I will take it). I have flowers blooming that don’t normally bloom and I truly feel the promise and hope of the rebirth of nature. (The flowers above are from my yard.) Planning: With Spring time comes the need to think about outdoor needs. I’m making a list of what we will need to accomplish as the weather becomes warmer. There will be the obligatory weed pulling, new mulch, some outside painting and new cushions for the patio. (I’m also desiring new chairs for my porch.) Reading: I do not typically read multiple books at a time but I find myself reading through several. If you are wanting a quick inspirational read, try Be the Miracle: 50 Lessons for Making the Impossible Possible. The author provides beautiful real life stories that truly provide motivation for the day. I’m also reading Mind over Medicine: Scientific Proof that You Can Heal Yourself. Our mind is extremely powerful and I have witnessed this power in clients and patients I have worked with. Listening To: 90’s on 9 on SirrusXM Radio in the car. Would someone tell me how Brittany Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time is 17 years old? I confess I do Carpool Karaoke on a regular basis and sometimes surprise myself at the words to songs I know. Watching: James and I have been watching The People vs O.J. Simpson as part of our Friday nights at home. It’s always interesting to look at things in hindsight. I also think the casting and acting is amazing. Letting Go Of: I continue to work on my 40 bags in 40 days project. It’s such a wonderful feeling to purge items whether it be clothing or papers. I’ve redone our two kitchen pantries and am almost finished with the office. We’ve also donated clothes, recycled more paper than I care to admit and moved a few things to a pile for the annual neighborhood yard sale. Eating: Continuing to enjoy our Hello Fresh Meals. If you aren’t familiar with this subscription box, it is a healthy meal delivery service. You choose the recipes you want for the week and EVERYTHING is delivered to your door. The delivery schedule is flexible and you can choose from 3 to 5 meals per week for two or a family. The weekly price for two people with three meals in $69.00. I would love to provide three people with a FREE box. If you are interested, please leave your email in the comments above.
Frustrated With: Although I am typically technology savvy, I need help with photo storage. I’m continuously receiving Storage Almost Full warnings on my iphone. There has to be a better way and I’m looking for suggestions. What is out there? What works?
Participating In: James and I will be taking part in the Shamrock Shuffle this Saturday. It’s a 3K Run/Walk benefiting Habitat for Humanity. The biggest deal is James and I are doing this together. One of us in this relationship has a competitive nature which has resulted in the two of us doing things separately!
Looking Forward To: We have another trip to Las Vegas planned for next month and I’m in need of getting away. We are staying at The Cromwell, a boutique hotel on the strip. There will be a trip to Hoover Dam, a spa day and fantastic food. We’re also seeing Brittany Spears in concert!
What’s going on in your everyday life?

The Vegas trip sounds amazing. I’m in desperate need of a little getaway. We just went on a family road trip, and I’m exhausted and recovering from a cold. I wish I could help with the photo storage, but I have the same problem.
I think colds are often more difficult to get over than the flu. You feel bad, but keep pushing yourself. Take care of you! I’m in search of the best photo storage and will keep everyone informed.
How on Earth is Hit Me Baby One More Time 17 years old?!?! Man, that makes me feel old. I also get frustrated with phone storage. The only thing that I know to do is to upload my photos from my phone to my computer, but I know a lot of people use photo storage sites like Dropbox or Photobucket…
I’m asking the same question about the song! I’m trying to use Dropbox but it’s not working like it should. I don’t really want to use all of my computer space so it would be nice to find the right “cloud” storage. Still not sure how that song is so old… I’m not that old! LOL
Ok, no I really feel old. 17 years ago she had that hit? Wow.
I, too, am planning all the things to do outside once the weather gets warmer – I cannot wait! Those meals look delicious – I love making fresh cooked meals and try to do so as often as I can. More photo storage – let me know once youÄve figured it out!
I’m still on the search in regards to photo storage. I’m trying Dropbox and started using some of my Amazon Prime space but the problem is they don’t work like they are “suppose” to. Very frustrating. I will keep you updated. I’m so ready for warm weather!!
Ok….I saw you posted the Britney Spears thing on Twitter the other day and I had to stop and think about it. Darn…I really feel old now! I want to check out the inspirational book you mentioned. I can use all of the motivation I can get lately. Thanks for sharing and linking up!
I suppose I’m on a little bit of a Britney kick right now but when I looked down and saw that it was from 1999 – I was like “WHAT?” I still don’t think that it’s possible. I think you will like the book, I found mine in the clearance section at Barnes and Noble. The author has also written another book “God Never Blinks.” They are short reads and make you feel good.
Great blog. i like the way you broke things down.
Thanks for stopping by.
I love all these answers- I don’t know what to say first. I love spring and can’t wait for the rain to stop and the sunshine to come out. I absolutely wish I had Siruis XM radio- its wonderful! The Hello Fresh Boxes look great although I dont know that I can still justify 69$ for only 3 meals? I need to read much more than I do and I’m excited to watch the OJ Simpson shows (i have them saved on DVR) and I would suggest Photobucket for picture storage OR you can also use icloud or OneDrive? 🙂 Look around the internet and search sizes available without paying! I save ALL my pics to PB and I have never ran out of space yet (tiny pic files). ( i also sometimes use the Google Drive which has lots of storage space too!)
Thank you for your suggestions Nora. I have google drive but I’ve been having problems uploading to it… it’s frustrating. i had never thought about using PB – as I just use it for photos for graphics etc. Thank you again for the suggestions. I know what you mean about Hello Fresh – it comes down to about $10 per person for each meal. I know I could probably make other meals at home for less but right now this fits for us better.
This is my first time to your blog but it won’t be my last. Going over to read the posts on posting less often – I’m all for that! I love sweet potatoes too! I share the same frustrations with my iphone. Enjoy your weekend.
Katie, I’m so glad you have you visit and would love to keep having you. Thank you for those kinds words. Hope your weekend is great!
Speaking of purging….have you read Marie Kondo’s book – Spark Joy? I think you’d love it. I read it for a few days and got me energized to start tidying it up. I ended up with 4 large bags of unwanted clothes, two boxes of books and two more small boxes of random knick knacks. And…hello viva las vegas, have so much fun!!
Chiara
Oh my gosh yes, I’ve read the book and truly use the “does this bring me joy” question. I’m in a constant state of purging as I don’t have a lot of time to do a full purge. I’m done with the pantries in the kitchen and half way finished with the office. It makes me feel so good. Those random knick knacks can easily overcome us!
