Journal Notes |What Inspires your Senses?
Mar’s fantastic new link-up What Inspires your senses? The last Wednesday of each month she invites everyone to share photographs from the month (or whenever) that have inspired your senses. It is important to note that photographs are another form of a journal. Daily individuals are posting their lives on Instagram and most of us have an abundance of pictures on our phones and computers. The problem most of us have with the accessibility of our phone cameras is that the fantastic photographs often stay on our phones. As we enter the holiday season, make sure you take some time to enjoy your photos. Share them on your social media, print the special moments out and frame them. Most importantly – enjoy them! Journaling from a senses perspective is a wonderful prompt as it encourages you to think about your surroundings and helps you practice mindfulness. Here are my chosen photographs for the month.
FEEL
My little scarecrow and pumpkin were frozen last week as we had our fist snow and temperatures were in the twenties. This isn’t normal for Kentucky temperatures in November.
HEAR
This photograph was taken before the start of the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars. There is nothing like a stadium full of screaming fans. I should note the Bengals won that day but many weren’t happy with the way the team played. Thus, you can only imagine what was being said and heard.

SEE
The Fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. We are having a non-traditional Christmas and spending a few days in Las Vegas. I never thought I would enjoy the city like I do.
TASTE/SMELL
This was a fantastic breakfast I had with a friend one morning at Wild Eggs.I absolutely love this restaurant for breakfast and am willing to drive across town for it. This is the surfer girl omelet with gluten free toast. I also had to take a picture of the coffee because I thought it was pretty (and it smelled good).

SIXTH SENSE
This photograph was taken at sunset on the first day of January 2014. It was absolutely magical and everyone was posting their own views. This has no filter and signifies that there is a higher power who blesses us with such beauty.

Oh my goodness, that sunset photo is breathtaking, Sheryl! So beautiful! 🙂
I always keep this photograph around to look at because it was so amazing.
