A Few of My Favorite Things

I’ve periodically been participating in After April’s  25 Days of Christmas Ornaments. Of course, I am way behind and didn’t bring out many of my ornaments this year (and they are all my favorite).
As I have several trees, I try to do a mix of traditional, sentimental ornaments as well as ornaments which pull the color theme together. My Mom had a tradition of always buying my brother and me an ornament each year and I try to add a new ornament each year that adds to the theme of the year.

The ornament above was given to me by Mom when I was in high school. It is a dated Hallmark Keepsake ornament and is one of my favorites. I also love that it clips into the tree rather than hanging.
This is 2012’s Mischievous Kitten ornament number 14 in the series, also from Hallmark. I have all of the ornaments and this is typically the ornament that James buys me. We are animal lovers and each year we can always picture one of our cats in the same position as the ornament. I also collect the Puppy series of ornaments. This year marks the 22nd in the puppy series.

I Love You a Latte – one of the earlier ornaments that I bought James which hangs on our kitchen tree. For several years after James and I were together and married, I did not drink coffee of any kind – and then he introduced me to Starbucks and the addiction began. I am also a lover of Pepe Le Pew, one has to admire his continuous search for love.
Finally, this is James’ favorite Hallmark ornament (I promise we do have more than Hallmark ornaments). The name is Happy Birthday Jesus with a lamb bringing a birthday cake.  It’s a wonderful reminder of the true reason of the season.
Hope you are enjoying your favorite ornaments.

LOVE that kitty! Looks like it could be my real life mischievous white kitty 🙂 and I also LOVE ornaments that clip onto the beaches rather than hang. It’s so much easier, don’t you think?

Yes, clipping onto the branches is so much easier than fighting with one that will not hang straight. Trust me, those kitties are all just like our real life ones. 🙂
