A Must Listen to Podcast: Kind World
There are times when it is easy to feel that the world is cruel. Whether it be the international news of the recent bombing in Manchester, England or simply hearing a brief five minutes of a local newscast.
During a recent time of struggling with the feeling that everything was horrible and would never be good again, I discovered one of the most uplifting podcasts. Truth be told, I binged on every episode of the Kind World Podcast.
Kind World is produced by WBUR from Boston and includes short stories that display the kind effect that one act can have upon a life. Episodes are brief and shared by the individuals who have had their life impacted. Some of my favorite stories are of the opthamologist who discovered early in his career he was losing his eyesight. Daily he commutes to work via the subway where he has sat next to the same young man for the past several years and along the walk to work he is assisted by storekeepers and residents who have become his family. Although it is hard to choose a favorite, I cried during the walk I was listening to Secret Sisters. After the death of a child, 12 women banded together to secretly care for a family during their first year of grief.
Kind World is a reminder that the world continues to be filled with kindness and wonderful people. It is a reminder that even out of the darkest moments, beautiful things can and will occur.
As I stated, during a night of being unable to fall asleep, I binged on episodes I had not listened to. Sadly, over the past few months, episodes have only been updated monthly. Nonetheless, Kind World is a podcast where it is easy to relisten to episodes.
If you are in need of a reminder and would benefit from a mood boost, make Kind World part of your podcast listening!

Adding this to my list today! I could use it, especially with the news lately.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Sheryl. Will definitely give this one a listen–the world lately has been breaking my heart but it’s always reassuring to hear about the good that surrounds us <3
