Currently…..
I am using August as a time to do some reevaluating. Although technically summer, August is traditionally a transition month as summer schedules change, kids return to school and fall begins to show signs. (Who wants to guess when pumpkin spice latte shows up?) Before you return to a hectic schedule, take some time to review what is going on in your life and take note of what you don’t want to let go. Additionally, take note of what you would like to adjust.
Here’s what is going on in my world currently…..
READING The Good Girl by Mary Kuibca. This is another suspense novel written from multiple perspectives of the main characters. This was an impulse buy at Target as I truly wanted to sneak in another “for enjoyment” book before fall classes start. I am almost halfway through and must say it is truly a good book. I recently provided my thoughts on The Girl On The Train and I already like this book better.
LISTENING and loving my free trial of Apple Music. I love the playlists that have been put together and seriously think I will keep it after the trial is over.
OBSESSING over the FitBit charge I purchased. I have become somewhat obsessed with getting my steps in (not a bad thing). I love that I am going out of my way to go to a bathroom, parking farther from the store and overall becoming aware of my movement. I’m also certain that not all of my stairs are being counted…. (
WATCHING Television is not something I watch a lot of; however I have made it a weekly ritual to watch Beach Flip each Sunday night on HGTV. I don’t have a certain team I want to win, but there are two friends that simply get on my nerves. Isn’t that what reality tv is supposed to do?
FEELING A mixture of emotions in all areas of my life right now. My neighbors and I are struggling with the recent events with our neighbor. I also hate that facts become distorted after a time like this and the truth is none of us will know the truth.
THINKING about how I am going to manage my schedule and time this fall. Two part time jobs, providing supervision, trainings, writing a blog and trying to have a life. Sadly, there are times the thought of it all paralyzes me and as a result I achieve little for the day.
PLANNING to make some changes on this site, organize my office and be as prepared as possible for the fall class I am teaching.
JOINING a fantasy football league for the first time. We will see how this works out! Evidently, I have some spare time on my hands!
MISSING the beach. In lieu of a big vacation this year, we went all out and purchased a tempur-pedic mattress. I’m not regretting our decision but I’m also missing the waves and sand. Next year is certainly a beach year.
WEARING Essie Petal Pusher nail polish on my fingernails. I love all Essie polish and this one provides color but is still neutral.
LOOKING FORWARD TO my monthly happy hour date with a dear friend and the Girls Weekend Trip we have scheduled in September. Lexington also has something going on each weekend in August and it’s nice to have so many options of things to do.
GRATEFUL for this life I have. A supportive husband, good friends, good health and opportunities.
What is going on in your life currently?

The fitbit sounds so fun! I want it, but then a lot of what I do (swim, lift, bike) it wouldn’t register which would bum me out! haha, I need to make a decision to get one or not, but glad you are liking yours!
I do agree with you in regards to it not registering the other exercises. I’ve worked out twice lately where it rarely registered anything and I was exhausted. I try to not let it bother me too much. It’s nice mostly on the days I am at the hospital and do so much walking. It also holds me accountable on the days when I haven’t truly worked out.
I finished the Good Girl a few days ago!
So, you aren’t going to let me know what you think??? 🙂 I’m thinking I may be finished by the weekend (depending upon what else goes on). Will be nice to talk about it.
I am loving this post today. I feel like I sitting right there in front of you as you tell me the latest in your life. I am feeling you on how to manage all that is on your plate. Work, Blog, Kids, Hubby and trying to have a life…crazy! I think the Pumpkin Spice Latte will be avail by September 1!! LOL
Seriously, you know that pumpkin spice is just out there ready to make it’s presence known!! Let’s see if you are right. Thank you for the comments on this post, I haven’t done one of these before but it was nice to do. Let me know if you come up with the right combination of handling everything!. XO Miss our twitter chats.
Tell me a little more about Apple Music because I don’t get it yet. Exactly what does it do?
So, I thought I responded to your comment the other night and it’s not showing! 🙁 Apple Music is Apple’s version of streaming music. It comes up with great playlist off of what I’ve listened to. The variety has included a play list of one songwriter and all of the artists who have sang the songs, themed playlist (songs of summer, broken hearts, remixes) I believe everyone can get a 3 month trial – I’m thinking I may keep it.
I love that we both did currently posts, they are a goo way to relax for a day with blogging and look at what is going on at the moment. I have been wanting a FitBit, but haven’t gotten one yet. I hope you have a great day!
I think I’m going to do a currently more often as it truly helped to center me. I do love my FitBit but it does cheat you out of steps and some exercises don’t always count. I’m still addicted!
I’m totally with you on being obsessed with getting my steps in, I’m always asking my kids if they want to go for a walk or to the park. 🙂
Also, I just read your post about your neighbor 🙁 That’s hard stuff. It’s a good reminder for me to try to get to know my neighbors better.
Thanks Chantel – I truly would have liked to have connected with him but his depression (or PTSD) wouldn’t allow it. I’ve thought what could I have done differently and realized there was nothing. I’m so glad to have connected again – your blog fell out of my feed and I went searching for you!
Oh my goodness I am obsessed with my fitbit charge too! What is your email connected with it so I can add you as my friend?? I’m not as obsessed with my steps as I thought I would be but I’m really using it to motivate me to get more sleep. I have weeks where my average sleep is 4 hours (thanks to night shift) and it’s SO bad!
It’s connected to my personal email (I think you have it). I will send it to you. I’ve been slacking on my steps lately but I’m also doing workouts that aren’t registering. I agree with the sleep. I truly don’t know how you get by on 4 hours of sleep!
